After a generally warm and dry decade, this vintage brought moderate and balanced weather to Tokaj-Hegyalja. The winery’s ‘estate Furmint’ is selected from the most important Szepsy vineyards, from 20- to 60-year-old vines. It was spontaneously fermented, predominantly in barrels, then aged for 6 months. The taut palate is rounded out by the 5 g/l of residual sugar. The nose opens slowly with pear, mint, citrus, and the palate shows serious structure. It has long ageing potential.
